The Running Badge is one of five achievements available in Camp Whittlewood, an indie horror RPG developed by NickSchemes. Its official Steam description simply states: "Escaped Camp Whittlewood."

To earn this badge, you must successfully execute Ending 1: Escape on the final night. Because this ending requires escaping alongside a fellow camper using the trampoline, completing it also unlocks the companion achievement Bark Scout's Honor. Here is the complete preparation and walkthrough needed to secure the Running Badge.

Required Setup Before the Final Night

To trigger the escape sequence properly, several preparatory tasks must be completed across the first three days. Doing these in advance also lets you create a clean save right before going to sleep on the final night, allowing you to reload for the other endings without replaying the entire game.

Before Day 2

  • Exhaust all dialogue options with the campers.
  • Complete at least one camper's side quest. Examples include delivering Soda to Buggs, returning a Headset to Pierce, or delivering a Love Letter to Tiffany. Completing a side quest ensures you can collect a S'more at the final cookout.

Day 2

  • Collect all Red Flags around camp, but do not turn them in to the Camp Leader immediately.
  • Save your game before participating in the Tug of War activity.
  • Win the Tug of War event to earn the Magnifying Glass. If your team falls, reload and try again.

Day 3 Setup

Do not start the Fire Starting activity at the Dining Hall right away. Head to the Archery Area first to gather essential tools:

  1. Obtain the Bolt Cutters and Book: Shoot down the Wooden Squirrel during Archery. Place the squirrel inside the Aquarium located in the Administration Room to receive the Basement Key. Enter the Dining Hall basement with your Lantern to pick up the Bolt Cutters and the Book.
  2. Reposition the Trampoline: Head to the Playground above the Administration Room. Use the Bolt Cutters to cut loose the Trampoline. Drag the Trampoline to the bottom-left corner of the parking lot, directly underneath the Treehouse.
  3. Save the Flint: In the Dining Hall, pick up the Flint and Wet Moss, but do not use them to light the fire. Use your Magnifying Glass instead, and claim the reward from the Camp Leader. Dry the Wet Moss by the Dining Hall fireplace.
  4. Acquire the Friendship Bracelet: Climb into the Treehouse using a Peg on the tree behind the Dining Hall, knock down the Piggy Bank, and drop onto the Trampoline with your Flint. Later, explore the hidden path in the Hiking Area to enter the cave with your Lantern. Pick up the Medallion from the cave and bring it back to the Campfire to craft the Friendship Bracelet.
  5. Gift the Bracelet: Hand the Friendship Bracelet to any camper of your choice.

Once all preparations are finished, speak with the Camp Leader to begin the cookout. After the campfire events move you to the Administration Room, do not go to sleep immediately. Walk back to the campfire to collect your S'mores from the campers you assisted, return to your cabin, and save your game.

How to Unlock the Running Badge (Ending 1: Escape)

Once night falls and the monster stalks the campground, follow these exact steps to complete the escape:

  1. Retrieve Your Gear: Pick up your Backpack from inside the Administration Room.
  2. Move the Trampoline to the Gate: Head to the Playground and drag the Trampoline all the way to the camp's main exit gate.
  3. Reset the Monster if Spotted: If the creature begins chasing you while you move around the camp, immediately enter and exit the Administration Room to reset its pathing and break the chase.
  4. Recruit Your Camper: Go to the Dining Hall to find the specific camper who received your Friendship Bracelet. Talk to them and ask them to follow you.
  5. Escape the Camp: Lead the camper safely to the main gate where you positioned the Trampoline. Interact with the Trampoline to leap over the perimeter together.

Once the cutscene concludes, the Running Badge achievement will unlock on Steam alongside Bark Scout's Honor.
